We have all seen an auction, whether it's on TV or you have actually been to one. There are all kinds of auctions. Sometimes good like horse auctions, e-bay auctions, fine art auctions and old-timey car auctions. But then again, there are sometimes some bad auctions. Where people do not want to loose their stuff but due to the government they have no choice. These are things like seized property and seized car auctions and of course tax auctions. When you get a tax auction it can be a horrible time for anyone. Anything you own can be taken from you even down to your smallest memorabilia of your family. The type of tax auction takes place for the government to get the money owed to them from your back taxes. They can take your furniture, computers, jewelry, art and other things every home has. Most people are not sure how a tax auction works. A tax auction is mostly done online, a list is put up online and people can raise their bids to fit there budgets in order to gain the item they are interested in.
Tax auctions are a good way for the government to earn back the money they have lost due to those who have not paid their taxes. Although, it may not see fair for the government to do this. I agree with that very much. I do not think its right for the government to come in your home and take things you've had for years and sell them to other people. It can be a hard thing to loose your stuff and then realize its being sold to other people who may find your great grandmother's necklace to be something of a mere plaything to their child who wanted it. I don't think it's right not fair that the government can take these things away from anyone. It shouldn't be allowed and is considered to most to be an outrage. Sure they need payment of taxes. I can see that, but something like a person memorabilia of a passed away family member is way more valuable then most of the taxes that people owe. Tax auctions are there to make people pay back owed taxes. Somehow the government finds this fair. I can't possibly see how. In any case, tax auctions have been held for a series of years, and those who choose to buy others stuff who have lost their stuff due to not paying taxes can find most of the information online. I am not "getting on anyone's case" if they choose to buy stuff as tax auctions. I am just simply saying "to think about it". That's all. |
